BIG DRAWINGS!!!!

So today I went BIG! My drawings have been completmented throughout this foundation and from this I wanted to incorporate it in my FMP somehow. At the begining of the FMP I did quite a bit of drawing which I really enjoyed. But then I stopped and focused on fabric manipulations and my oddbods so my drawing took a back seat for a while, and I didnt want this. So I've picked it up again, as its strong so it should be shown I feel.
To do this instead of doing little drawings I wanted to showcase that I can draw, and also one of the main points I did a foundation was to be stretched to my full ability so drawing BIG and straight to the wall does this.
Today I have drawn straight to the wall on lining paper. This has been great as it allowed me the space and the scale to draw, and it gave me a sense of freedom which I really really loved! However one thing with drawing on lining paper, yes it gives me a long canvas, but the width isnt very thick. So it made the faces I was drawing long and thin, whereas drawing straight which I might to for the exhibtion would give me both a long canvas and the width which wouldnt make my drawings so thin.
But actually I like the style of the faces being thin, I know I've said this before but it gives a rawness to my drawings which I really really enjoy!!
I'm quite to happy to have some of these drawings I've done today as my final pieces for this project against the odd bods I've made, definately agasint the afro comb with the blonde hair wrapped around it and also my bun holder with the red hair weaved through it.

Please see the photos below to see what I'm talking about!!!

Below is one of my favourite drawings, I like the hair and the bottom detailing of the scarf also. I think the scale has worked well and proportion is there but in my style of drawing which I think looks good. Belows photos are close-ups of the drawings above!!

I loved this drawing shown below, I liked the placement of the curlers on her head, again I liked the detailing of her clothing below, it shows she's in a salon having her hair done, with the cloth on her shoulders. However I then went on to ruin the drawing by adding pieces of random pattened colour, see the photos below.

You can see below in the photo how I mean I've ruined the drawing, by sticking on really bright pieces of patterened paper which was meant to be old style 60's patterned wallpaper, however the colours are to bright for this to be shown across I think. Also the placement of the blocks of colour really doesnt work either. So I'm cross with myself for doing this as I really liked the drawing before hand!!!

Again with this drawing below I also ruined it as I did a checkered pattern on the drawing which I didnt like, so I stuck some paper on top but it really doesnt look good either. I added two pieces of patterned paper on to the drawing then stopped because I didnt think it was worth using the paper on a drawing I already didnt like. Oh well.

This drawing below I really like, however unfortunately the photograph isnt very good! Oh well I still like the drawing!! Then I thought it needed some colour so I painted on some duck egg blue colour as you can see below!

As you can see the duck egg blue is shown below, however I didnt like it as I thought it was too blocky as it was just in the middle of the drawing. The sample I did in my sketch book looked better as the paint was on the head and the hair. So I went back to it and added the colour in the hair which I think looks better! See the picture below!

See it looks better!!!!

Below is a drawing of a hair style, however I did it on the sewing machine instead of with pen! It looks good I think! It was difficult to tell how much paper I had left so the scale of the face is different to normal however I think this looks great! I especially like the nose! The one thing thats strange on this piece is that the tension kept going funny on the drawing as the paper was so big it was tugging and pulling so the tension was never equall. However I really like this espect of the drawing!! YAY!!! See what you think with the pictures below!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm pleased with my progress today!!!! YAY!!!!!
